Earth Hour

Earth Hour is an annual international event started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia. The event is promoted by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Australia and the Sydney Morning Herald. On the last Saturday of March 2007, Sydney government asks households and businesses to turn off their lights and non-essential electrical appliances for one hour in the evening.

To participate in that, more than 2 million Sydney businesses and households turned off their lights for one hour. Earth Hour, creating a powerful global message that it's possible to take action on climate change.


Earth Hour inspired the world and in 2008, other major cities will be joining us to take a stand. Here’s list of cities who are participated in Earth Hour : -
>> Aalborg, Aarhus, Adelaide, Atlanta, Bangkok, Bogota, Brisbane, Canberra, Chicago, Christchurch, Copenhagen, Darwin, Dublin, Hobart, Manila, Melbourne, Montreal, Odense, Ottawa, Perth, Phoenix, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Suva and Lautoka, Sydney, Toronto, Vancouver.
